During the first year of PDP II, the concept of a “Women’s Leadership Unit” was introduced through a “Women’s Leadership Club” (WLC) of the Internship program. This included weekly meetings with an initiative group from among the 87 interns in the Verkhovna Rada and in executive bodies. The Women’s Leadership initiative was continued in the fall 2009 through the internship program with emphasis on increasing the involvement of MPs and Deputy Ministers to address the issue of women’s leadership in Ukraine. In the frameworks of WLC there was scheduled a meeting with the Head of the VR Gender Advisor Ella Libanova and other outstanding women.

December 17 – Interns meeting with Oleksiy Sydorenko, Head of the Computer Systems Office of the VR Secretariat. Interns were informed on new software developments for the informative providing of activity of Verkhovna Rada. Interns were invited to test the new program system and to estimate the system on working with drafts.
